Henredon was founded in Morganton, North Carolina in 1945 by four men determined to build furniture of custom quality. The initial product line consisted of just three chests. It has since mushroomed into hundreds of beautiful wood and upholstery designs for every room.
While new manufacturing techniques are used you will still find that there is a considerable amount of hand and detail work performed on each piece. In these days of mass production a Henredon item will truly be unique.
Henredon has always taken a leadership role in designing and manufacturing some of the finest furnishings available. Our success is based on the talent and effort of the individuals that work for Henredon. Today, among people of discriminating taste, the name Henredon represents the best.
The Hickory Chair Furniture Co. began one hundred years ago in Hickory, North Carolina with a single product and a simple vision. The product was a made-to-order dining chair. The vision was to combine the authenticity of classic craftsmanship with the efficiency of modern manufacturing. In the decades since, our product range has evolved into an assortment of timeless designs, drawn from significant periods and places, and from the talents of some of the world’s most respected designers.
Our original vision, however, remains unchanged. Our company is still guided by a genuine commitment to custom craftsmanship and timely service. Our style is still distinguished by an authentic, timeless spirit. And our furniture is still made to order and made to last, by a team of talented and attentive artisans. We are proud that almost 90% of our furnishings are made in our Hickory, North Carolina workroom.
Our rich history of crafting quality furniture to our customers’ exacting standards began in 1903 when our first product was a bed, bureau and washstand suite made from native oak and sold for $14.50, wholesale. From that very first suite produced, Drexel Heritage has always taken a stylish eye toward helping our customers complete their homes with classic furniture that has a timeless beauty. Because of this, our company has enjoyed an irrefutable reputation for superior design, underscored today by the fact that Drexel Heritage is sold only in the finest furniture stores and design studios in the country.
